Will the software “snow leopard” come up in “Finder” on a Mac?
Question by The Cheshire Cat: Will the software “snow leopard” come up in “Finder” on a Mac?
I recently got a big macintosh, and i was downloading new effects for ichat/photobooth. The software I was downloading is “more ichat effects 2.0.3″.
URL: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/email_chat/moreichateffects.html
Before downloading, a note said on the introduction in red:
iChat and PhotoBooth crashes in 64 bit mode on SnowLeopard.
Follow the video guide after the installation to switch iChat and Photobooth in 32 bit mode.
Apple will solve the bugs in 64 bit in a future release of SnowLeopard.
I looked through Finder to see if I had Snow Leopard (btw, i was not on administrative account)
Snow Leopard did not show up, does this mean I do not have it?

Click on your desktop, click the Apple in the toolbar up top, click “About this Mac”. If your version is 1.5.x, you have Leopard and you are OK… if your version is 1.6.x, then you have Snow Leopard.
If you don’t know if you have Snow Leopard, then you likely don’t have it unless you bought your Mac after September (2009).

You probably have Snow Leopard and it is 64 bit. If they say it crashes then do not install it.
Snow Leopard is your operating which is Mac OS 10.6.
Click on the Apple in the menu bar and then go to “About This Mac”.
If it says Mac OS 10.6.X then you have Snow Leopard, and if it is 10.5.X then its not Snow Leopard.
Please not that the letter “X” can be any number.
Good Luck and take care!
